A sparkling concert in St Richard’s was given by the talented young touring Paprsky group, from Moldavia in the Czech Republic. They offered Fr Kieron the concert in return for accommodation overnight! The party comprised 30 people (with their bed rolls); they cooked their own meals, slept in the parish rooms – and even did some busking in the city.
The concert included excellent instrumental performances and songs in their own language, featuring ten players and twenty singers. A highlight was the a cappella rendition of We are marching – made famous by African singers from Soweto.
The audience – small but appreciative - enjoyed hearing their stories via an interpreter, and everyone was impressed with their mission to spread the word through their music – all with a real sense of joy.
The group is touring churches in the diocese and hopes to return next year- watch the bulletin!
