Mercy House - Successful Christmas Sale Nov. 2009

Chris Dwyer took the photos and reports on another outstanding success.

Once again the resources of the parish were mustered to organise a Christmas market in support of Mercy House in Johannesburg. Mick and Penny Finn, Majella Taylor with Judy McGregor, Lucy Rowley and her daughter, Anne Miller and others too numerous to mention, all played a prominent part.

Although on Saturday afternoon the appalling weather evidently deterred some potential customers from venturing out, the crowd on Sunday made up for it.

Diana has now taken a major step towards realising her “dream” by commissioning the building workfor the extension to her bungalow, in reliance on Divine providence and help from her friends overseas. The team’s successful efforts last weekend raised around £2,250, and we hope this will go a considerable way towards enabling the project to be completed. As always, our prayers go with it.

Diana has sent this message of thanks:

"To all parishioners and friends of Mercy House; A very sincere and warm 'thank you' to you all for supporting the Christmas sale so wonderfully. They made even more than double the last time, I understand. Truly our work is blessed and your generosity, we hope, will also be rewarded. Diana Beamish
